Reed is a Mac dictation app from Fuse Link Inc. Hold a key, speak, text pastes at the caret.

License

Use of Reed is licensed under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement:

These terms add Reed-specific rules for the service and subscriptions. If they conflict with Apple’s Standard EULA on a Licensed Application, Apple’s EULA controls for the app binary.

The service

Reed lives in the macOS menu bar. There is no website account. You sign in with Apple in the app. Dictation needs Microphone and Accessibility. Apple hearing (the default) also needs Speech Recognition.

By default, speech is turned into words on your Mac. Reed sends that text to its server to clean up. If you choose Cloud in Settings, or Apple heard nothing usable, the recording is sent instead. See the Privacy Policy.

Subscriptions

• Free works without a purchase: 2,000 words a week.
• Pro is an auto-renewable subscription: 200,000 words a month. Length is 1 month or 1 year, at the price shown in the app from the App Store.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription auto-renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the Reed account or the app does not cancel the subscription.

Acceptable use

Use Reed only on a Mac you are allowed to use, and only to dictate your own speech into fields you are allowed to type in. Do not use it to capture other people’s private conversations without permission. If you have Pro+ screen text, do not send content you are not allowed to give to a cloud service.

Reed is provided as is. Transcription can be wrong. You are responsible for what you paste. Fuse Link Inc. is not liable for lost work, missed messages, or anything you send after a dictation.
