Reps is an AI learning and practice app. This policy explains what data is used to run the app, sync progress, improve the product, and provide an optional Reps Super subscription.
Reps creates a guest account automatically the first time you open the app. It is an anonymous Firebase account identified by a random ID — it holds no name, email address, or phone number, and you are never asked to sign up to use the app. If you later choose to create a profile, Firebase Authentication processes your email address and password so you can sign in and keep your progress across devices; your existing progress carries over to the same account ID.
Your learning progress is stored on your device and synced to Google Firebase under your account ID. This includes completed lessons, streak, XP, review history, mastery, selected learning path, onboarding answers, and app settings. We use this data only to operate Reps, restore your progress, and keep it consistent across sessions and devices. Google processes this data as our service provider.
This sync starts with the guest account — it does not wait for you to sign up. Your device stays the source of truth: the app works fully offline, and the cloud copy is a backup that is merged rather than overwritten when you use more than one device.
We use PostHog (EU region) to understand how Reps is used so we can improve it. Analytics events are linked to your Reps account ID. We record things like: onboarding steps completed, which path you chose, lessons and reviews started and completed, whether an answer was right or wrong, Reps spent, streak events, prompts opened or copied, paywall views, purchases and restores, sign-in and sign-out, settings changes, and app errors. Reps also captures app installs, opens and updates, the screens you visit, and taps on interface elements automatically; an automatic tap event records an element identifier and its position in the screen layout, never the text you typed. PostHog also receives your IP address, which is used to derive an approximate region and is not used to build an advertising profile.
We deliberately do not send:
If you send a bug report or support request from inside the app, we store the message you wrote, the topic you picked, your account ID, whether you are still on a guest account, your platform, and the app content version, so we can reply and investigate. Please don't include sensitive personal information in the message.
Reps offers an optional auto-renewing Reps Super subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment; Reps does not receive or store your payment-card or bank details.
We use RevenueCat to offer subscriptions and determine whether Reps Super is active. RevenueCat receives your Reps account ID, purchase and subscription history, product identifiers, transaction status, expiry information, and limited technical information needed to provide and troubleshoot purchases. We do not send RevenueCat your lesson answers or learning activity. RevenueCat also forwards purchase and renewal events into our PostHog analytics, where they are linked to the same account ID. RevenueCat's privacy information is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
If you turn on the optional daily reminder, Reps schedules a local notification on your device. The reminder is generated on your phone, and what it says is not sent anywhere.
While that reminder is on, this device is also registered to receive notifications from us. We store a push token for the device, together with its platform, the app version, and a device identifier, against your account ID in Firebase. That record is refreshed when you open the app and when the token changes. The device identifier is the one your operating system gives us for Reps (identifierForVendor on iOS, Android ID on Android); it is not an advertising identifier, and it can survive reinstalling the app.
Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and then by Apple or Google to your device, so those providers receive the push token. We keep a short delivery record, normally for about a day, so we can confirm delivery and drop tokens that no longer work. We use notifications for reminders and occasional messages about the app. They are not used for advertising, and the token is never shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Turning the reminder off deletes that device record, and so does signing out or deleting your account. You can also turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Reps uses Expo's EAS Update service to check for compatible app-content updates. The request includes technical details needed to serve the correct update, such as platform, runtime version, and update channel. It does not include your learning progress.
Cloud progress and support requests are stored in Google Firebase in the europe-west1 region. Product analytics are processed by PostHog in the EU. Purchase data is processed by RevenueCat, and by Apple or Google, in line with their own policies; this may involve transfers outside the EU under their standard safeguards. Push notifications are relayed by Expo and by Apple's and Google's push services, which may process the device token outside the EU on the same basis.
Cloud progress is kept while your account exists, so that reinstalling or switching devices restores it. Deleting your account removes your cloud progress, your device records, and any support tickets you sent. Analytics events, and the subscription records held by RevenueCat and by Apple or Google, are not removed by that action; email us if you would also like your analytics data deleted. Store transaction records may remain subject to Apple's or Google's legal retention requirements.
You can use the app without providing an email address, and you can reset your learning progress at any time in Settings. If you created a profile, you can permanently delete your account and cloud progress from Settings. If you are still on a guest account, use Settings → Delete my data to send us an erase request — it attaches your account ID automatically, so we can find and remove the right record. You can also email us at the address below. You can restore, manage, or cancel a subscription from Reps Settings or your App Store / Google Play account.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us below and we will respond.
Reps is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
